Big fun at the big lake

We went to the big lake for our vacation again this summer. If you're not from West Michigan that may not have any meaning for you, so let me clarify -- the big lake is Lake Michigan. A really big lake. Really big. If you look at a map of the U.S. you can see it -- it outlines the left hand of the mitten-shaped state that is Michigan.

The cottage is just a few steps down to the beach and we love it and are thrilled when we have a chance at a week or two there in the summer. Family and friends filled the rooms, our camper, and two tents.

In the first week there was swimming, floating on the Carribean Island, kayaking, beach volleyball, smore making, frisbee throwing, football tossing, boogie boarding, surfing, reading, chatting, sunning, castle building, tubing, card playing, and walking the beach.

The second week was quieter, had a less populated cottage, and was a bit more low-key and relaxed, but had much of the same fun AND first-time-in-the-lake fun for baby Jack. He like the sand but was not so impressed with the lake water.

It was so much fun.

I'm ready to go back!
